Ferny Creek sits in a valley high in the Dandenong Ranges, between Sherbrooke Forest and the former Ferntree Gully National Park, with Tremont immediately to the east. Ferny Creek flooring FAQs
Can I keep my old underlay?
We don’t recommend it. Old underlay is compressed and worn in the walkways, and new carpet laid over it wears faster in the same places.
Is thicker underlay always better?
Not always. Underlay that’s too soft lets the carpet move and can shorten its life. A good 10mm underlay suits most homes.
Does underlay go on the stairs too?
Yes. Stairs get underlay like any room, at $6–$10/m² on the stair area, which makes them quieter and kinder underfoot.
