Extras
- Old carpet: taken up and disposed of for about $8/m². Removing old tiles, timber or vinyl is quoted at the measure.
- Furniture moving: $8/m².
- Edges on hard floors: we remove and refit your skirting boards for $20/m², so no scotia is needed, or fit scotia or quad beading for $10/m². We don’t paint, so your own painter touches up afterwards.
- Floor preparation: all hard floors and carpet tiles depend on the floor underneath, so preparation is quoted at the measure.
- Small jobs and apartments: jobs under 20 m² have a $450 small-job charge, and apartment or body corporate jobs add 10%.

How an installation runs
- You book a measure. Our mobile showroom brings samples to your home or site.
- We measure and plan the layout: roll direction, joins and fill pieces for carpet, and the edge finish for hard floors.
- Your written quote is emailed within 24 hours of the measure.
- Our installation team lays the floor, cleans up and walks you through the finished job.
Done properly
- Joins: we do our best to keep carpet joins out of hallways and other high-traffic areas, even if a roll has to be cut to shape offsite.
- Skirting: on hard floors we remove and refit the skirting boards rather than covering the gap with scotia, unless you ask for scotia.
- Businesses: we install after hours or at weekends for shops, offices and hospitality venues. See commercial flooring.
- Loose or rippled carpet: we restretch carpet from $450. We don’t patch carpet or repair burns, stains or other types of flooring.

How much does carpet installation cost in Melbourne?

How much does it cost to install hybrid or timber flooring?
Hybrid, vinyl plank and laminate installation is $28/m². Engineered timber is $28/m² floating (plus $6/m² underlay) or $35/m² direct stick (plus $15/m² adhesive). Edges are $20/m² to remove and refit skirting, or $10/m² for scotia. Floor preparation is quoted at the measure.
Do you take up the old carpet and move furniture?
Yes. Taking up and disposing of old carpet is about $8/m², and furniture moving is $8/m². Removing old tiles, timber or vinyl is quoted at the measure.
