Frankston Carpet & Flooring

Carpet and flooring in Frankston

Frankston faces Port Phillip Bay at the top of the Mornington Peninsula, with a continuous beach from Olivers Hill to Seaford, the pier, Kananook Creek and Bayside Shopping Centre. It’s about 31 km by road from our Huntingdale showroom. Founded as a fishing village in the 1850s, it grew with the railway, interwar holiday homes on Olivers Hill and post-war estates. We also cover Frankston East and Frankston Heights.

New carpet changes a little in its first few weeks, and knowing what’s normal saves worry.

The first weeks with new carpet

  • Use it straight away: stretched carpet can be walked on, vacuumed and furnished the same day. Lift furniture into place rather than dragging it.
  • Fluff is normal: new carpet, especially wool, sheds loose fibres at first. Regular vacuuming clears it within a few weeks.
  • Sprouting tufts: if a tuft stands above the pile, trim it level with scissors; never pull it.
  • Shading: the pile can look lighter or darker where it’s brushed in different directions. It’s a feature of cut pile, not a fault.
  • New-carpet smell fades quickly; open the windows for a few days.

Questions about flooring in Frankston

Why are there marks where the furniture was moved?

Furniture leaves dents in any carpet. Brushing the pile up with your fingers or a soft brush helps it recover.

How often should new carpet be vacuumed?

Often in the first few weeks to clear loose fibres, then regularly, especially in walkways.

Do you lay floors in beachside homes?

Yes. Hybrid and vinyl plank cope well with sand near outside doors, and carpet suits the bedrooms.
