Carpet and flooring in Prahran

Terraces: tight access and narrow stairs
Terrace houses are long and narrow, often with a steep staircase and little room to move a carpet roll. That’s where planning matters:
- Getting carpet in: where access is tight, large rolls can be cut to shape before they come in, so they fit through the front door and up the stairs.
- Stairs: a 16-step staircase takes about 13 m² of carpet, and installation on an average staircase is about $600, plus underlay. Patterned carpet on stairs is quoted at the measure.
- Runners: on timber stairs, a carpet runner adds grip and softens footsteps. We install runners, and overlocking the edges is an extra charge.

What carpet is best for stairs?
A dense, low pile wears best on stairs, because every tread takes the full weight of each step. Wool and solution-dyed nylon both work well; avoid very long, loose piles.
Can you carpet a winding staircase?
Yes. Winders and landings are measured individually, and every staircase is quoted after we’ve seen it.
Do you fit out shops and offices?
Yes. We supply and install commercial carpet tiles and sheet vinyl for shops, offices and hospitality venues, and can install after hours so you keep trading.
