- Look at samples on the floor, not against a wall or in your hand. That’s how you’ll see them every day.
- Morning, noon and evening: north-facing rooms look warmer, south-facing rooms cooler. Leave a sample in place and check it at different times.
- Lamps change colours too: warm white globes make floors look warmer, and cool white makes greys look colder.
- Bigger is better: a small swatch can look very different over a whole room, so ask to see a larger piece of the colours you shortlist.
