Where Is Cremorne?
Cremorne (otherwise known as “Silicon Yarra” for its burgeoning tech display) is a humble inner suburb of Melbourne, 2 km southeast of the CBD. Its local government district is the City of Yarra. It is bordered by the Yarra River, Punt Road, Swan and Church Streets and split down the middle by the railway to South Yarra.
Comprising only about a square kilometre, until 1999, Cremorne lived only as a location in the larger suburb of Richmond. Cremorne’s beauty is in its somewhat chaotic mix of uses and the unique character emerging from being ‘walled in’ by main roads and railways on all fronts.
There are industrial figures such as Bryant and May and Rosella factories and the Nylex Clock, side by side with Victorian cottages, contemporary townhouses, retail offices and light industries.
Cremorne gets its title from the Cremorne Gardens, an amusement park that occupied a riverfront area in the westerly half of Cremorne for a time in the mid 19th century.
Our flooring business services Cremorne and surrounding areas. We provide professional carpet laying and repair services encompassing a comprehensive range of products designed for comfort, durability, affordability, and functionality for residential and commercial properties throughout Melbourne and its districts.
