Essendon sits about 8 km north-west of the CBD in Moonee Valley, between Hoffmans Road and the Moonee Ponds Creek, with shops along Keilor Road and Mount Alexander Road and landmarks such as Windy Hill and Lowther Hall. - Heat: floating floors expand and contract with temperature, so the edge gaps matter more in a room that gets very warm. We allow for them when we lay the floor.
- Old verandah floors can slope or sit lower than the rest of the house. We check the level at the measure.

Wool can fade over time in strong sun. In a very sunny room, solution-dyed nylon is the safer choice for colour.
Can a sunroom match the rest of the house?
Yes. If the floor levels allow, the same floor can run through; where they don’t, a trim at the doorway covers the change.
Do you lay floors in Edwardian and interwar homes?
Yes: wool and nylon carpet, engineered timber and hybrid, over original boards or a newer subfloor.
