Flooring for Clematis homes
Clematis is a small township in the Dandenong Ranges, 6 km east of Belgrave, in the Shire of Cardinia. It’s about 32 km by road from our Huntingdale showroom. It was called Paradise, after the Paradise Hotel built in 1880, until 1921, and it was the third stop on the narrow-gauge line now run by Puffing Billy, among farms that once grew fruit and berries.

Hard-floor stairs and nosings
- What a nosing is: the rounded edge piece at the front of each step. On hybrid and vinyl plank stairs, a matching nosing gives a neat, safe edge.
- How it’s done: each tread and riser is cut and fitted separately, and the nosing is fixed over the front edge.
- Price: $1,600 to install a 16-step staircase in hybrid, timber, vinyl plank or laminate, plus about 13 m² of flooring.
- Short flights: two or three steps between levels are priced on the number of steps, and we plan where the floors meet.
- Grip: if grip matters, carpet on the stairs is softer and less slippery in socks.
