Tecoma Carpet & Flooring

Carpet and flooring in Tecoma

Tecoma is a hillside suburb 1 km west of Belgrave, with the Dandenong Ranges National Park to the north and a small strip of shops on the Burwood Highway, including the 1920s Tecoma Star, the first picture theatre in the hills. It’s about 25 km by road from our Huntingdale showroom. It took its name from the railway station in 1924, and its homes sit on hilly, heavily treed blocks.

Not every room needs the same carpet, and for some, entry-level carpet is the sensible choice.

Where entry-level carpet makes sense

  • Spare rooms and studies that see little foot traffic.
  • Rental properties between tenancies, where a fresh, clean look matters more than long life.
  • Homes you’ll sell soon, where new carpet helps a room present well.
  • Where to spend more: hallways, stairs, living rooms and kids’ rooms wear fastest, so mid-range solution-dyed nylon ($43.50/m²) or better lasts longer there.
  • The same installation: entry-level carpet (from $20.50/m²) gets the same 10mm underlay, stretching and finish as any other carpet.

Questions about flooring in Tecoma

Is entry-level carpet worth laying in a living room?

It will look good to begin with, but a busy living room wears carpet quickly. Mid-range solution-dyed nylon usually lasts much longer there.

Can I mix carpet grades in one house?

Yes. Many homes use a tougher carpet in the hallway and living areas and a lighter-duty one in spare rooms, in matching colours.

Do you travel to homes in the hills?

Yes. Tecoma is within our service area, and the mobile showroom brings the samples to you.

Why CarpetAce

We’re not like other flooring stores. In many stores the person who measures and quotes never lays a floor, and the job is handed to an installer on a work order. Tony Chalhoub, a carpet installer for more than 20 years, founded CarpetAce in 2010 so that every job is measured and quoted by people who know how to install it.

We’re family-owned, with more than 40 years in flooring, and rated 5.0 from more than 300 Google reviews.
