About this range

Barrington is Terra Mater's engineered floor for anyone drawn to Australian hardwood. Each board carries a Spotted Gum or Blackbutt surface over a multi-ply base, in 2200mm lengths and three widths: 135mm, 190mm and 210mm. The 135mm and 190mm boards are 14mm thick with a 3mm hardwood layer, while the 210mm boards step up to 16mm with a 4mm layer. Most options have a matt, wire-brushed surface under an 8% Invisible Lacquer, and the 190mm boards are also offered as a Smooth version with a 15% semi-gloss finish. According to Terra Mater's brochure, the timber is responsibly sourced from New South Wales and Queensland. Boards are tongue and groove and can be floated or glued down. It's a good fit if you love the warmth of native species but prefer an engineered board to solid timber, and it is the only range in the Terra Mater line-up with a native hardwood surface. Let us bring Barrington samples to you so you can compare both species and widths at home.

Questions

Barrington FAQs

What's the difference between the standard and Smooth options?

The standard boards have a matt, wire-brushed surface with an 8% Invisible Lacquer. The Smooth options, available in Spotted Gum and Blackbutt at 190mm wide, have a 15% lacquer that the brochure describes as a smooth semi-gloss finish.

Is Barrington solid timber?

No. It's an engineered board: 3mm or 4mm of Australian hardwood (depending on the width you choose) over a multi-ply base.
