Carrum is a beach suburb between the Patterson River and Eel Race Road in the City of Kingston, about 24 km by road from our Huntingdale showroom. Why a quote includes more than your floor area
- Carpet comes on rolls, most 3.66 m wide. A room wider than the roll needs a join and an extra fill piece, cut so the pile runs the same way.
- A single room can need far more than its floor area: a 4 × 4 m room uses about 30.1 m² of carpet for 16 m² of floor.
- Across a whole house, offcuts are used up in robes, hallways and small rooms, so the extra is much smaller.
- Hard floors are ordered with about 8% extra for cuts at walls and doorways.
- Installation and underlay are charged on the measured floor area, not the carpet quantity.

How a job runs
It starts with a phone call or an enquiry. We arrange a time for the free measure, Monday to Saturday between 7am and 7pm, and bring the mobile showroom so you can compare samples in your own light. Your written quote is emailed within 24 hours of the measure. When you’re ready, our installation team lays the floor, and we can take up the old one and move the furniture first.

Some ranges come 4 m wide, but they cost much more per m², so they aren’t a way to save. We’ll go through the layout with you at the measure.

We plan joins away from doorways and the main walkways where we can, and we do our best to make them as discreet as possible.
What is the written quote based on?
The final measurements, the layout of each room, access to the house and the condition of the floors, all checked at the free measure. It’s emailed within 24 hours.
