Dandenong North Carpet & Flooring

Flooring in Dandenong North

Dandenong North is a large residential suburb between Mulgrave, Rowville, Endeavour Hills and Dandenong, about 14 km by road from our Huntingdale showroom. Most of its family homes went up between the 1960s and the 1980s, with Tirhatuan Park, Dandenong Stadium on Stud Road and a string of local reserves close by.

Many of these houses still have their original kitchens, laundries and floors, so new flooring often goes hand in hand with a renovation.

Out with the old vinyl and tiles

Plenty of homes here still have their original sheet vinyl or ceramic tiles in the kitchen, meals area and laundry. Replacing them takes a few steps:

  • Removal: we take up old vinyl, tiles or timber. It’s quoted at the measure, because it depends on how they were laid.
  • Preparation: once the old floor is up, the subfloor may need levelling before the new floor goes down. That’s quoted at the measure too.
  • The new floor: hybrid suits kitchens and laundries because its planks resist water; carpet or laminate suit the dry rooms.
  • Where floors meet: trims finish the change between rooms and any difference in height.

We don’t lay tiles. Our hybrid flooring price guide has worked examples for kitchens and living areas.

Questions about flooring in Dandenong North

Which hybrid ranges do you carry?

Our main hybrid range is Terra Mater Resiplank in 7mm, 8.5mm and 9.7mm ($45, $55 and $65/m²), and we also carry UB Trading’s Aqua Stone. The mobile showroom brings samples to you.

Should I choose 3mm or 5mm vinyl plank?

We also supply 3mm vinyl planks, but for most homes we recommend 5mm: a thicker plank feels more solid underfoot and is more forgiving of small imperfections in the floor underneath. 5mm vinyl plank is about $45/m².

Do you do carpet for the bedrooms too?

Yes. Entry-level carpet starts from $20.50/m², and mid-range solution-dyed nylon is $43.50/m², plus installation and underlay.

Why CarpetAce

We’re not like other flooring stores. In many stores the person who measures and quotes never lays a floor, and the job is handed to an installer on a work order. Tony Chalhoub, a carpet installer for more than 20 years, founded CarpetAce in 2010 so that every job is measured and quoted by people who know how to install it.

We’re family-owned, with more than 40 years in flooring, and rated 5.0 from more than 300 Google reviews.

How a job runs

It starts with a phone call or an enquiry. We arrange a time for the free measure, Monday to Saturday between 7am and 7pm, and bring the mobile showroom so you can compare samples in your own light. Your written quote is emailed within 24 hours of the measure. When you’re ready, our installation team lays the floor, and we can take up the old one and move the furniture first.
