About this range

Metro is a carpet plank with a fine, small-scale pattern and a palette weighted towards deeper shades, with colour names taken from city transport: Commute, Cityscape, Transit, Subway, Underground and Express. With those deeper colours and a tight repeat, it is well matched to entries, corridors and open-plan offices that see steady traffic. The planks are 25 x 100cm in 100% solution-dyed nylon, a multi-level loop with a 3mm pile, and Metro is the only Airlay carpet plank offered with a choice of backing: PVC with recycled content at 5mm overall, or PET cushion at 8mm. They can be laid herringbone, brick or ashlar. If you like the plank format but want a quieter floor than Pebble's colour range or Empire's graphic colour, Metro is a sensible place to start. It suits offices, education and shared commercial areas. We can bring samples to your site, including both backings.

Questions

Metro FAQs

Which Airlay carpet planks come with a cushion back?

Metro is the only one. Airlay's other planks, including Pebble, Horizon, Empire, Iron and Geoform, are listed with a PVC back containing recycled content.

Can Metro be mixed with carpet tiles?

Often, yes, but pile height and thickness should be checked so the floor stays level. We'll compare samples with you and plan the transitions when we measure.

Can you install outside our trading hours?

Yes. For commercial spaces we plan the installation around your trading hours, and we set out the timing in your written quote.
